"A man had a donkey..." This is how the world-famous fairy tale of the Bremen town musicians begins, which was first published by the Brothers Grimm in the popular Children's and Household Tales at the beginning of the 19th century. But what is actually behind the fairy tale? And where are the town musicians to be found everywhere in Bremen's cityscape? Go on a fairy-tale hunt in the Old town of Bremen and find out. You will also hear other enchanting legends and tales from the Hanseatic city.
In addition to the most famous statue of the Bremen town musicians, which was erected in the 1950s on the west side of Bremen Town Hall, there are several other representations of the popular quartet in the cityscape. The Bremen town musicians can be found, among other things, on the lantern hanger of an old inn sign. And the four animals were even carved from an old oak tree. Embark on a fabulous journey through Bremen's Old town and discover things that only come to light when you take a closer look.
During the tour, however, it is not exclusively about the Bremen town musicians. Little celebrities such as the Bremen Gluckhenne, the "cripple" at Roland's feet and the Seven Lazy Brothers also play a role. In addition, you will hear stories that have given many a goose bump. Let yourself be surprised!
